The solution authenticates the user to the site. Once the user’s login name and password has been successfully authenticated, the user’s PC is turned into a smart token and its fingerprint is used as the second factor in the authentication process.
The solution also authenticates the site to the user. Before the user is authenticated, the website is authenticated by showing its PKI certificate. Therefore, the user can be confident that the site they are visiting is legitimate and not a spoof.
Once the client and server have been mutually authenticated, they will agree on a hidden one time session password that will be used to secure transactions during that specific user session. The system is virtually immune to any phishing or man-in-the-middle attacks, since each transaction form is encrypted.
With Smart 2x2, a one-time user authentication and authorization can allow a user to access online services without the need to enter multiple passwords. There is no need for the service provider to change their existing login procedure; and there is no need for customers to change their current login experience.
