Low-Cost Smart Cards

SmartID is a 3-in-1 solution that combines virtual smart card, plug-and-play USB flash drive and onboard TPM (Trusted Platform Module) security chip, providing the same advanced security functionality as conventional plastic smart cards. SmartID is designed to support public key infrastructure (PKI) for authentication, digital signatures and file encryption as well as securely storing Windows credentials for authentication but at the fraction of the cost of the conventional smart cards.

While the conventional smart card creates the secure storage for digital credentials in a plastic card, SmartID creates the secure storage in any of the following devices:

  • Hard Disk - Virtual Smart Card
  • USB Flash Drive - USB Smart Card
  • Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Chip - TPM Smart Card

SmartID is an ideal choice for a wide range of applications such as Windows Network Logon, Remote Desktop Logon and Web client authentication. SmartID supports both PKCS #11 and MS-CAPI interfaces.

Virual Smart Card

SmartID creates a secure storage, a virtual smart card, in a computer hard disk that is protected by the patent-pending technology: Digital Shield. The data stored in the virtual card is digitally shielded so that is can not be deciphered, stolen or copied. Users’ private keys never leave the virtual card.

Virtual Smart Card is the most cost effective smart card solution available in the market today.

USB Smart Card

SmartID combines the convenience of a plug-and-play USB device with the standard smart card platform, offering a highly secure, tamper-evident and mobile container for digital certificates and user information. This simple form factor, a USB key, offers smart card functionality and makes it easy for users to carry credentials with them - whether across the enterprise or across the country, allowing both local and remote access to information on networks or on the web.

USB Smart Card is as portable as the plastic card, but without the requirement for the additional smart card reader.

TPM Smart Card

Trusted computing is an industry standard to make personal computers more secure through a dedicated hardware chip, called a Trusted Platform Module (TPM). A TPM chip is a hardware security microchip built onto a PC or laptop's motherboard during manufacturing, offering facilities for secure storage and generation of cryptographic keys. TPM is supported by more than 130 industry leaders and tens of millions of PC's deployed by the industry worldwide. By utilising TPM, SmartID effectively transforms a TPM chip into a physical smart card. TPM Smart Card is ideal for mobile workers who need to remotely access their corporate networks from their laptops or home PCs.
